3 different ways you can stay in paradise

by admin on August 4, 2015

Bibione and Lignano are two beautiful beaches situated on the North East cost of Italy. Overall the North East has a better climate than the south especially in the very hot summer months! Best of all it’s only a short trip from Venice and well worth the journey

Bibione beach is a white sand beach over 11 km long and best of all it’s south facing so gets the sun all day long – perfect! Lignano is slightly smaller with 4km of white sand on offer but has 9 lidos with bars and great views overlooking the sea. If you are adventurous you will happy to know that both beaches offer a variety of water sports including wind surfing and paragliding.

Both have been awarded blue flag status so you know it will be pristine white sand a blue water throughout. There are three different ways you can stay in Bibione or Lignano.

Hotel

This is probably the most obvious option for when you go on holiday and there are plenty of options in both Bibione and Lignano. One good thing about an all-inclusive hotel is you don’t need to think about cooking – something I am not very good at and don’t really enjoy. You are usually completely looked after and you don’t need to worry about how much food will cost or budgeting for the week or two weeks you are here. However there are other options you might want to consider especially if you are looking for something a little bit different.

Villa

This could be the best of both worlds, especially if you like a bit of privacy. You can self-cater and have your own private pool, so you won’t need to worry about bagging a sun lounger early morning when you are the only ones using the pool. Most villas will allow you to bring your dog and they are great for big families or groups rather than hotel rooms where you are all cut off from each other. There is a lot more space in a villa and great communal areas where everyone can get together. There is a great site called Unitas Marina where you can look for the best villas in Bibione and Lignano

If you want to splash the cash then you can get lots of luxuries including your own hot tub or jacuzzi.

Camping

An option most people may not consider is camping – this may conjure up freezing cold nights shivering in a threadbare sleeping bag hoping the rain won’t drip through! But unlike camping here in England camping I Europe is incredibly popular and the main reason is the weather is soooo much better.

Both Bibione and Lignano have big camping villages which are great for families and those who don’t want to leave their furry friends at home. The big villages have loads of amenities and it feels more like a hotel than camping, they have swimming pools, kids club and their own evening entertainment. Some even have their own private beach – great if you don’t want to mix with the masses.

The only downside is you need to pack your own tent – which if you are flying here could be a little tricky, however most campsites offer ready made tents or caravans for people who can’t bring their own. Gone are the days where you are completely cut off from civilisation when camping – now campsites all have wifi and electricity access – so you can make sure you make all your friends back home jealous.
