Since we began travelling the list of places we want to visit has increased dramatically. Every time we tick one new destination off we and add about 20 new ones however, there is one destination that has been on my bucket list since I was a child – Orlando, Florida. I’m a big kid at heart; the rides, characters and waterparks are just some of the reasons I’ve really wanted to go. There are plenty of airlines that fly direct to Orlando, and you can even get your Thomas Cook flights from a couple of different airports across the UK, making that trip even easier.
Universal Studios – more importantly: Harry Potter World
I’m a huge Harry Potter fan, I love the books and have read them all multiple times. The films are brilliant and I have visited The Making of Harry Potter Studio Tour in England. I need to go to the Wizarding world of Harry Potter at some point in my lifetime! I’m really excited to ride on the Hogwarts Express so I can pretend I’m really heading to Hogwarts. Even better I would love to visit a fully functioning replica of Hogsmeade and basically pretend I am a witch for the day. I’m imagining entering the Three Broomsticks and drinking Butterbeer – Bliss! You can also drag non-fans along; there are quite a few rides within Harry Potter world as well as other parts of the park.
Disney World
This is my dream as a child I really wanted to visit Disneyworld and meet all the characters from the films. The parades are also amazing and really get you into the mood to become a big kid! The parades are getting better each year as Disney tries to outdo itself. I would love to go during a theme week like Halloween and Christmas to see the different costumes the characters will be in. I also would love to embrace my inner child – running around getting as many character signatures and selfies! The fireworks are a brilliant way to end a very long day and are of course just as spectacular.
Waterparks
I love waterparks but unfortunately most of the ones in England are indoors because of the weather. Orlando has loads of outdoor waterparks on offer to help you cool down whilst having a lot of fun. I have heard great things about Wet ‘n’ Wild that has some of the best rides in the world. Disney also has two waterparks that you can add to your theme park pass great for families or people already visiting Disney world.
Shopping
There is a lot of choice to satisfy even the biggest shopping addict. There are 9 shopping centres around Orlando from high-end labels to outlets on international drive. I’m a shopaholic and could spend my whole holiday just searching out bargains to bring back to England.
Orlando has a lot to offer all it’s visitors and everyone will find something that keeps them entertained, so if the adrenaline world of water parks and theme parks isn’t your thing then there’s plenty other options for you.
