Here’s What Should Be on Your 2017 Bucket List

A bucket list is a list of things you want to accomplish before you die. If you break your list into annual lists you can accomplish even more. Life is about living, learning, and seeing as much as you can see.   Here are some ideas for this year’s list.

Tanzania

Trek Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa so be sure that you are in good shape before attempting the climb. You can get all inclusive packages that include guides, accommodations, cooks and porters. The Rongai Route approaches the peak from the north and it takes about 7 days to complete. Go on the Eurostar. The Eurostar is a high-speed railway service that connects London with Paris, Marseilles, Brussels, Lille, and Lyon. You will also get to go through the Channel Tunnel (Chunnel) that connects London and Paris.

The Cotswolds, England

Visit a village in the Cotswolds. The Cotswolds are an area about two hours outside of London that is made up of historical villages, historical sites, and fun things for the family to do and see. You can learn how the village once thrived and tour buildings that are hundreds of years old. You can even rent a room in one of the villages that is over three hundred years old.

Agra, India

Travel to the Taj Mahal in Agra. Shah Jahan as a memorial built the Taj Mahal in Agra, India for his third wife who died in childbirth. This beautiful white marble building is one of the new 7 Wonders of the World and it is something everyone must see. Wear bright colours when you visit so that your photos are a real contrast to the stark white of the building. It is best to see this iconic landmark at dawn or dusk before it gets too crowded.

Rio de Janeioro, Brazil

Traverse to the top of Corcovado Mountain to see Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.     The statue of 30 meter tall Christ the Redeemer is listed as one of the new 7 Wonders of the World and it dominates the skyline. Travel to the top of Corcovado Mountain by bus, train, hired van or taxi. If you are feeling a bit adventurous you can hike two hours up the beautiful trails to the top.

Istanbul, Turkey

See the Blue Mosque during your visit to Istanbul. Its official name is the Sultan Ahmed Mosque and people from all over the world journey to see its stunning beauty each year. Be sure to visit the Sıbyan Mekteb a historic elementary school on the Hagia Sophia outer wall to learn more about the mosque and Islam before entering the building.

Venice, Italy

Cruise a canal in Venice. Venice is in northeastern Italy and it is known for its unique bridges and canals. The glamorous gondola ride along the famous Grand Canal has been shown in many movies over the years.
