Paradise …. pure and simple

by admin on January 25, 2013

Whether you’re backpacking or settling yourself on a paradise island, Thailand has it all, from spectacular beaches, history, temples, nature, rainforests and colourful shopping, you’re sure to find something for everyone.

The only downside in my opinion is the fact this is a long-haul destination, however like most things in life, the best things are worth waiting for. Long-haul travel can be made easier, cheaper and less stressful by pre-booking airport extras, designed to take the stress out of travel. I recently used Bristol Airport Parking, and would certainly use it again. Most large airports offer a service, so check them out and see what you could save prior to travelling. Remember this tip and you’ll find convenience and money saved. If you’re flying from the capital, check out Stansted Airport Parking for great rates, and excellent service!

Thailand is a large country, so you’re spoilt for destinations. Of course, Bangkok is a must visit, with its huge, sprawling metropolis and colourful entertainment. Why not combine your stay with a city break and beach holiday? The most popular resorts are in the south, such as Phuket, or the famous eastern resort of Koh Samui. Wherever you base yourself, you’ll find fantastic diving opportunities, with colourful marine life to see – a definite must do.

The choice of activities is endless, from diving, snorkelling, beach life, shopping on the markets, rainforest treks, jungle treks, elephant rides, visiting temples and generally ambling around in awe of the scenery – you will never be bored. Personally, I’d spend most of my time on the beach, as the beaches here are some of the best in the world, and even a camera can’t capture the spectacular beauty and colours.

Thailand is laid back, the ideal place to kick back and relax, and once the sun goes down, your choice of entertainment is endless, but I would highly recommend trying some Thai food in the place it was born. Thai food is famous the world over, and rightly so, with delicious seafood and mouth-watering dishes to try. If that’s not for you however, you’ll find plenty of international menus, so nobody will go hungry.

The clubs and bars of the main tourist resorts will give you more than your party fix, and I’d highly recommend the full moon parties that go on around the islands, especially the one in Koh Samui.

Thailand is a dream destination, and one that really does have to be seen to be believed.
